Farm Power at Peters Farms

I'm 14 and love agriculture, tractors, and mechanics. We farm 1500 acres near Perry, Iowa. It is not uncommon for us to spend 18 even 20 hour days in the field, but running our Allis 7060 or our JD 4440 makes alot better. When my great Grandparents purchased the 160 acre farm where my dad now lives in 1933, they started out with horses and eventually moved up to a Farmall F-20. Then a lady that they farmed for gave them another F-20 that had a road gear in it. A relative opened a Aliis dealer and we started buying off him. One F-20 was traded off on a new 1953 WD Allis with a wide front. The other one was traded in the early 60's on a 1955 WD-45. It was overhauled and had D-17 sleeves and pistons replaced insted of original. When my Grandpa started farming in 1954, he bought a 1950 WD and a 3-bottom plow at a farm sale. Then in 1963, my great-Grandpa and Grandpa bought a D-19 gas and a 5-bottom slat plow. The slats were replaced with molboards. Then in, I believe 1966, they purchased a 1965 Allis 190 Diesel with a Ansel cab. Then, in 1979, Grandpa bought a new John Deere 4440. Also in 1979, my dad started farming and he bought a 1975 7040 Allis. The 7040 was getting coolant in the oil somehow and while it was in the shop, dad found a 1979 Allis 7060 black belly. He bought it and he liked it much better than the 7040. Dad bought a 1961 JD 3010 at a farm sale. It is now the loader tractor. We bought a 1956 WD-45 from a relative in 1988. It had power steering and is a neat little tractor. In 1990, dad bought a 1974 Allis 200. While chiseling, the rearend went out of it, and we had to put the rearend updates in. Dad sold the 200 to my uncle, but he farms with us anyway, so the tractor is still on the farm. The latest addition to the farm is my 1953 Farmall Super M. I completely restored it and would like to sell it to restore an Allis. We still have all the tractors except for the F-20's, the WD-45 with D-17 engine componets, and the 7040.
