Case VAC or Not

It was the summer of 2000 was and boy was it interesting. I decided to call I guess you could say the local wrecking yard even though it was the 1 of two wrecking yards close to where I Live. The owner is rodger harris of tupperville. I said to him 'you got any new running tractors in' and it must of been my luckey day he said he knew where he could get a running vac 14 high crop. You know the one with the 34 or 36 inch rims on the back. anyway I asked what he wanted for it and he said 600 I said to myself considerind its in the shape hes saying its in. The next four weeks were planned on getting a trailer and a truck. Since I was only 15 at the time my dad had to go and get it with me. We found a trailer at the local rental place and I paid him 75 dollars for the day and now I had to find a truck so I called And called and no luck untill my sisters boyfriend said he could get me a truck, and he was right he did he borrowed his boses 2000 dodge dakota which was a great truck and one thing about those 4. 7 litre engines is they drink gas like its going out of style. The day came finally we were off on our journey to pick up the vac. It would take 2 hours to drive there and two or more to drive back since we would be carring the tractor. As we arrived where we were supposed to pick up the tractor rodgers hired man ( mechanic) greeted us and he showed us where the tractor was and he started it up it ran good the tires on the back had to be replaced in a bad way but he had topled me that over the phone. He said it had a good paint job but the first look it had been a while since it had been painted it was faded and had began to rust in some spots. I got on to take it for a spin and the steering wheel was hard to turn and he had told me that it was hard to turn but I would have never expected I t would be this hard. I got off and had myb dad and me stand on the eagle hith and it went up once and then twice and the third time nothing. So the mechanic added some oil to the trany and we started up the tractor again and the same thing happened so I thought about it long and hard and came to the decision I wasen't going to take it. So we started up the truck and headed home. The next week or two later there was an sc at the road in a nearby town driving distance for a tractor to my farm so I wont get into the details of that tractor but lets just say its sitting in my barn right now.
