WAMOGO FFA Tractor Restoration Team

I go to WAMOGO high school, and do take part in the Ag program. We have a unique opportunity to restore antique tractors and raffle them off to fund other restoration projects. Last year we had the chance to restore a 1951 Farmall C. The tractor was not running and had many issues. Over 20 students including myself partook in this restoration, including 4 girls who are there right beside us guys, elbows deep in grease and who knows what. We did a full rebuild on the motor which was not siezed but had bad compression in cylinder 4. luckly it had good back tires and the sheet metal was strait for the most part.We had to wire wheel the whole tractor and use our little sand blaster to do all the rest of the small parts. All of the rims where trashed so we took two backs and made one and bought new ones. We had the tractor painted in a professional booth, but all the little stuff with rattle cans. When we got it back together after months we hear that IH motor roar to life! After all the trouble we went thought to make this tractor nicer than when it came out of the factory we displayed it at our FFA awards banquet. During the summer we attended most of the local fairs to raffle it off. It looked so nice that we were invited to go to 3 car shows. We sold over 6000 dollars worth of tickets next years restoration projects but also for our school. This year we are doing a 1939 Farmall H and two Ford 9n's. One of the owners is Wayne Carini, he has a show on dicovery channel called 'Chasing Classic Cars' he will be filming us restore his tractor. We also will be in red power magazine. To see our restoration photo's serch 2012 Wamogo FFA Tractor Restoration. We want to thank all our sponsors and Mr Rowland our awesome mechanics teacher without your help all this would not be possible!
