How tough is my Tractor

It was a day of extreme devastation during mid September 2004, as Hurricane IVAN ripped through the Gulf Coast. In its' wake, thousands of homes and trees were destroyed, forever changing the face of Pensacola and our surrounding communities. Large oaks and pines many of which were irreplaceable crashed on homes and cars leaving many friends and neighbors stranded without shelter or transportation. FEMA did an incredible job of assisting everyone with tree and debris removal, however most of the work was left to us. I was most fortunate in that no major damage occured to my home but I had lost many large tall oaks that were 70 feet or even greater on my 10 acre farm. I had the good fortune of purchasing a 1980 Ford 6600 tractor from a farmer in the northern part of our county several months prior to the storm. It only had 1600 hours on the tach. Nevertheless, I put alot of work into her, getting the tractor in excellent working order. All of the mechanical work was completed and I was just about to paint it when the storm hit. I really put that 6600 to the test over the next 10 weeks as I pulled trees off driveways and off my neighbors cars and homes. We worked together, non stop, for days on end. The tractor was a godsend and It made basic survival possible for all of us. It has run flawlessly, without a hitch as I dragged whole trees and wrecked cars, and parts of roofs and other untold amounts of trash to the roadside for pickup. Would I buy another Ford? In a heartbeat! This is the most reliable, toughest, well built tractor I have ever owned. I can't wait to finally put a fresh coat of paint on her....
