Allis Chalmers CA Split/Engine Change |
Hello all, I thought I would share this with you guys so noone makes the same mistake(I doubt they would). Yesterday I decided to change the engine in the CA, so I cobbled up a boom for my cub to lift the engine. 1st mistake, you need to picture this now. I got the tractor split and ready to install the new engine but the cud hyd weren't strong enough so I have 1 foot in torque tube and 1 on front end assembly lying on the ground. I told my daughter to put the 2+6 under the boom when it is high enough, so I lift with all my might and she puts the board under the boom. Now the fun starts - the board slides pinching my hands against the block, I was not strong enough to lift the engine any higher and I couldn't let go because my hands were pinched againts the block! I'm in trouble I thought. While I am screaming like a idiot my daughter takes off because she thought I was yelling at her (I was screaming in agony, she takes off NOW I'm Really In Trouble). Needless to say I got the engine in and front end back on, The worst part about this is I have a WD sitting 20 ft away that would of had no trouble with the lifting part! Thought ya all might get a laugh out of it Justin NY Justin Fletcher, NY, entered 2002-11-04 My Email Address: Not Displayed |

The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
