F-20 Running (But Stupid Mistake) | When the day that I got my 1938 Farmall F-20 running is and will be the most memorable day of my life we pulled it around the yard all after noon trying to get it started by the way im only 14 yrs old and this is my first tractor i've restored completly I did all of the work on it from overhauling the motor all the way to paint job and decals myself, but beyond the point we were pulling it around the yard and it would back fire here and there so me and my father and grandfather took the mag off and reset it, well after the 5 try's I let the clutch out in high gear the tractor went 5 feet I pulled the trotle and she took off with that straight pipe on there my grandma heard it and came running outside and I looked at my grandpa and my dad and kinda gave them both a smile like thats what ive been waiting to here for 8 mo because when I baught it the motor was stuck but after all the smileing was done I bailed off the tractor and ran up and my grandma gave me a hug and said im so proud of you well we got it dialed in just perfect so I had to go put it on a plow my grandma needed a garden so I said ill make you one grandma, remember these were only a 2 plow tractor all we had was a ih 3-14 plow so I said ill try it that old F-20 pulled that plow in 1st gear just perfect, but recently I painted it and put decals on it put the spark plug wires on wrong 'my stupidness' she started up but was only running on one piston so I shut it down and put them on right after about 15 min of running I heard a crack and I broke a rod bolt now I need to tear it back down its all my faul but like everyones been saying 'if you did all the work on that tractor yourself you did a good job', that makes me proud no matter how expensive it cost me if you want to know how everything is coming along email me and ill let you know whats going on with my 1938 Farmall F-20 Eric, Mn, entered 2004-06-16 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
