Miss Gee to the rescue | We had a VERY bad ice storm here in Aiken SC this past Jan. 2004 and power was out with down lines and trees and and unbelievable amount of pine tree branches causing much collateral damage to homes, buildings and cars. The electric company had many trucks hired to help speed up repairs. I was helping my neighborhood but pulling branches, and downed trees to a safer place to get them off roads, driveways and yards. We call the tractor'Miss Gee' she is a 1949 JD'G'. I would move down the streets helping who ever needed an assist when a man ran out to the street asking if I could help them- It was one of the dual axle boom trucks stuck in a back yard! It was stuck into the soft ground up to the front and back axles, and it looked like I would not be of much help, but we hooked the log chain up and she walked that truck all the way to the street!! The young fellas were Very impressed with the old 2 cylinder and the power she had. They had told me they called for a tow truck but it would be a 2 hour wait, so we save a lot of time by helping them out. So much so, that she was used to pull another boom truck out about 3 blocks away that even a wrecker could not get to. We love that old girl and she is part of our family. She still helps out the neighbors with many smaller work details and all love her as we do. Moe Terry, entered 2004-07-04 My Email Address: Not Displayed |

I dropped off the tractor expecting a transformation from a 6 volt to a 12 volt system utilizing the original generator housing, and a total rewiring of the whole tractor. The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
