Good-bye Old Friend | I often hear stories of how hard farming was back in the day and my grandpa had bought a new 1950 Allis-chalmers CA in 1950 and he was happier than a hen in a corn crib and that was the only tractor he had ever owne, he has long since gone out of farming but he had alwyas used that tractor for gardening. as my grandpa grew older so did the tractor and with both had problems with their engine so to speak. Finally the day came where the tractor didnt start and he was too old to fix it anymore so he sold it. I was there the day the man came to pick up the tractor and as he drove away with the Allis on the back I looked at my grandpa's weathered and wrinkled face and a single tear came from his eye, as he wiped it away he walked to the house I sat there thinking about what that tractor had ment to him. today he is 87 stil going strong but everyonce in awhile I hear a story of how that that tractor made a difference in his life Taylor Bohm, WI, entered 2005-09-20 My Email Address: Not Displayed |
