Surprise, Surprise | Many years ago a friend and I were changing engines in an old pickup that I had and it was kinda late at night when we got down to mounting the alternator and dicovered we had no adjuster bracket...remembering that we had an old junk car outside the shop we took a flashlight and went in search. after a little struggling we got the hood up about half way and I pointed the light directly to the lower front of the compartment, seeing an alternator I immediately stuck my face down behind the radiator and held the light next to my head pointed at the top of the alternator crap! no adjuster on it! about that time I heard a loud hissing noise close by so I turn my head toward the carb with the light revealing the biggest possuum Id ever seen about a foot from my face and MAD! I sprung up like I was shot from a gun slamming my head into the J-shaped hood catch hard enough to put a nice inch long gash in the top of my head...we laugh about it now but not that night!
