I vote for faulty EGR valve. If it's stuck open, or even leaking a little, it won't idle at all. you may be able to clean it out. I've "fixed" several of them by cutting a small section of a pop can to cover the holes and just slide it under gasket and bolt the EGR valve back on. You may have to live with a constant "Check Engine" lamp, but if you're cheap like me, it will work. By the way, be sure to take a look at the base gasket for the TBI unit, too. They are notorious for developing leaks, although most of the time, they cause a fast idle. HTH Good Luck and God Bless
