Got a surprise yesterday. Have a 2006 Kia Sorento (Euro specs). Ordered/installed a riecever hitch from the States. Wiring is different for trailer hookup, so I got the connector kit here. Instructions for the US kit has it a 30 minute +/- a little job because there is a connector on the frame to plug & play. Figured I'd be in the same shape, just with the wires I need.
Surprise!!!!!!!!!!
plugs are inside and protected from weather/moisture on the Euro spec. Pretty much the whole trim package had to come out of the back to get it installed. 3 hours at a local garage (3 weeks if I'd done it myself). Real funny thing, our car was supposedly built in America. Noticed a big difference in our Dodge Stratus that was US Specs over the one the Germans sold that were built at the same US factory. Some difference in ford ranger and escapes also.
