Yesterday we had a ordeal with a fire dept / EMS and a school bus overturned. All turned out pretty good considering .
Our biggest problem was we could not locate the over turned buss, cell phones were not in a good location, and was given the wrong road name. Sometimes that stuff just happens.
My question is, could a dispatcher with say Google Earth locate that buss, or in other issues perhaps tell us what we might be dealing with? Often with grass fires , or timber fires it is hard to know the big picture. Often it is called in as a car accident without any details, or a semi overturned.
During floods, I wonder if it would help locate camper along our streams that are unaware of problems etc.
Often we kind of could get a heads up if a farmer was ahead of us or a wide load, someone is lost in a wooded area, walked away from a accident to get help, and the list will go on and on.
I have heard some folks could zoom down and see if a single cow is away from the heard, dogs chasing the cattle etc.
Anyone know where I should start, or am I dreaming of things in the future?
