I'm new at filing farm taxes. The software, Quiktax Unincorporated Business, seems reasonable and I can understand most of it. What throws me, though, is G.S.T. recovery. I keep hearing the phrase, "You get it back later," but I can't figure out how. I found one form (GST 370) for an employee of a business to claim it, but that's the only one.
The other thing is finding out how to buy untaxed diesel in relatively small quantities. I kept all of my receipts from the service station where I bought it, but I can't find a way to make a claim for the taxes.
With the kind of revenue my outfit produces, hiring an accountant would put me out of business, so I need to learn how to do this by myself.
