My 510 deisel tractor now has two six volt batteries. The current batteries seem weak and I am having difficulty with starting since the colder temperatures arrived. My questions: has anyone converted one of these tractors over to a heavy duty construction type 12 volt battery? If so, where did you mount the battery box?How long can cables be and still carry sufficient power to the starter? Is this move advisable or should I continue with two new 6 volt batterys? Thank you in advance ! Iam looking for improved starting performance here as the temperatures dip although right now it is only slightly below the freezing point! Please note also: I use a block heater as well!
