My friend has an old 1949 A John Deer with a big loader on the front. I Think it is a real neat tractor to see and hear start up are go down the road. “Well he said, Larry you can jump on it and use it anytime you want”. Wow! I thought and up I went on to it. Started and down the road I went with a big smile on my face. But then came to making a turn. I found that I was weak and this tractor did not want to turn to dang good! But then I did get it turned and I was breathing a bit hard as I returned to my place with it. But then it happen! I decided to park it up next to my chicken house. So as I pulled Up, I forgot one thing! Was not a clutch down on the floor to hit. .. shessss Just as I was to the building with that loader on front. I hit the lever clutch but was way to late. Ha ha My chicken building leaned to one side then and still does to this day! Now the tractor I have now is wide in front and “Power Steering” . Been a year now and I have not failed to lose memory of that day. Besides I see the chicken shed every time I go outside.
