Tore one of the gaskets on the bottom of the oil p

I was putting my Super C oil pump back together and one of the two bottom gaskets that goes between the oil pump and the bottom plate tore in two. Will this still work or should I replace it with another one? (both are new) After I put a little grease on the metal surface and pressed the two paper gaskets onto it the tear all but disappears. Thanks in advance! Mark D.
