Counter clock wise facing the flywheel is the correct direction, the direction it runs. Turning it that way is a good thing. Why you want it to go backwards is a mystery to me. It wasn't designed to go that way and there is probably a reason why it doesn't want to. I don't know what it is either. If it was mine I wouldn't try too hard to make it turn over backwards (clockwise) for fear I would screw something up.
