You are supposed to remove shims to tighten the knotter stack, not add them. Are you pulling the knotters back against the trip pawl before checking the timing? If not, you are probably out of time and don't know it. Start by checking and if necessary correcting the knotter home position. Is the knotter drive chain snug? You didn't remove a link from the knotter drive chain, did you? Are you gonna track down a book for this machine on Monday?
