i understand why you don't want to tell him,but the $10,000 is a bit much for me. i even looked in a parts book today from one of our suppliers and could not touch half of that in parts on any engine i looked up. average overhaul is around $4,000 unless we are dealing with a 4wd they tend to run a little more. a diesel does not work like a gas engine,just because the pump is set to a certain setting does not mean the engine is going to get it. a diesel will only use what it needs-to an extent.
