Hi Eric, A F150 is rated to pull 7600lb to 8800lb trailer depending on the truck configuration and year, quotes for a 2k2. The trailer is responsible for stopping the GVW of the trailer. I have no idea what your tractor weighs nor load weight. From experience tho, 8800lb behind a 1/2ton, thats about 15k GCW, you best have all your ducks in a row as any thing goes wrong, blow out, stop on a steep grade, etc; your going to have your hands full of alot of weight that may not go the direction you want it too. This is where a heavier tow vechile can save you. The term slower is best applies to any load. T_Bone
