Brad,the timing is 25degrees before top dead center at 1650 rpm.I dont know about the gear however,I suggest you post this on the MM board.Those guys have helped me a lot.Plug gap is .022 to .025 on gas model and .014 to .016 on a propane model.Point gap is .018 to .024.I have a M602 and I wouldnt part with it for twice what I paid for it.They are good tractors.Hope I helped,Moline
