Looking at either Ford or Dodge V-10. Any experience with them? Have heard both good and bad about both brands. Have been reading up on them and their MPG isn't much worse than the V-8's. For example: friend has 99 Dodge with 5.9 V8 and makes 12mpg, Dad has 98 Ford with 5.4 V8 and makes 14mpg. What I've read up so far says 12-14 mpg with V10 empty. I plan on getting the 5 or 6 speed (if available) with it so that should improve mpg a little bit. Tractor related because I need a tow vehicle for my 25 foot flatbed to haul Farmalls around. Cannot afford a diesel at $25k for used - see V10's all the time for $15k. Thanks for your experience and opinions. Please do not turn this into a flame war on brand, I buy from whatever dealer has the best price/value.
