I have a 1964 Farmall 460 diesel. I had a major hydraulic leak from the brake shaft seals, power steering supply line and the main hydraulic hose and I lost all hydraulic power. I repaired all the leaks and hoses and replaced all the hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic pump made a slight whining noise when I first started the tractor but then it quieted down and the hydraulics worked perfectly. I ran the PTO and everything seemed perfect with no leaks and worked great. I was able to remove my cutter, shuffle around my baler and rake and when I moved my baler to the shop the hydraulics started acting up again. Moving very slowly and jerky and the hydraulic pump is whining a lot. Is there a way to test the hydraulic pump without just removing and replacing it? Is there anything else I should be looking at? I did find that the brand new fluid after less than 1 hour of use was extremely foamy already. Any help is greatly appreciated.
