I removed the upper fan shroud to got more room to work. Then my brother showed up to borrow it. When it was returned to me, I removed the tinnerman nut and clean both surfaces and applied Permatex Ultra blue to the nut, and re assembled it. Today I drove it three times. It has stayed dry. Time will tell how permanent this repair will be.
When I drove it up to the garage to do the work, I heard a bad sound. Without the upper shroud, the battery cable fell into the fan. One blade bent and one shredded cable. I noticed that the bottom of the radiator hose had scuff marks on it as well. Some times I get lucky and sometimes I don't. I also noticed that the brake pedal was soft. There was another pin hole leak in a line. Repairing the line is the easy part. Maybe I can get the bleeder open and maybe not.
