Just to report my sweet corn came out really sweet about a week after my last post. At this point I have pulled out about 400 ears. As of last night 203 have went to the freezer. The ears that are left are now getting smaller in size but still sweet. I would think I can get another 150/200 before I'm done. This is probably the best stand of corn I have ever had. I have been making friends and family happy as it all get given away which was my goal. The thing that has surprised me the most is the farmer with the seed corn has not came over and asked if he can pull my tassels yet. His seed corn is all tasseled and we are close. I though mine would be totally done before his but here we are. I'm not knowledgeable enough but after some time do my tassels stop throwing seed (pollen?)(germination?) and he knows that?
I have yet to find an ear that has crossed with his. And I have yet to find any raccoon damage. Life is good.
