Was picking some minds yesterday about getting the header control to work on a Deere 6620. Today I started the engine and lowered the feeder house to activate the auto header controls. With the DAM in the 2nd position I could find power on one of the pins in the electrical plug on the feeder house. Once I found power in one of the pins I started "jumping" across that pin and others. Found one when connected to the power that would raise the feeder house and one that when connected to the power would lower the feeder house. Engine was idling. Could also hear the hydraulic solenoids working. Early on the system would seem to go dead - loose power. Did clean a couple electrical grounds and connectors. Seemed to work properly. Will hook up a DAM round plug on the combine to the flat plug on the header using the John Deere adapter connector to see if it will work properly. If it works I still would like to change the header to a DAM system so I can adjust the cutting height by moving the DAM switch. So, that is where I am at in the diagnosis. Thanks. Does anyone remember changing a header to DAM from the old standard header control????
