The 2510 was a direct replacement for the 3010 which was a good seller. The 2510 uses the same 202 cubic inch engine as a 2020 and the trans is basically a 3020.The hyd system used a four piston pump that left a little to be desired. There was very little extra cost to Deere to produce a 2510 and they sold fairly good. In many areas they outsold 3020's.When new a 2510 was 54 hp and a 3020 was 70 so the 2510 filled an important sales gap. The 2520 did not sell as well because farms were getting bigger and most people bought 3020 and 4020 tractors. I have a 2510 and a 2520 diesel and really like both as they handle nice and are very snappy tractors to drive. Many collecters like them because they look like a scaled down 4020.
