I have a copy of The operation, care and repair of farm machinery, Eighth edition published by John Deere, no copyright date. The "modern" farm tractors illustrated are a John Deere D on steel and a GP, also on steel. A few pages later there appears to be an unstyled "B" on rubber pulling a 4 row cotton planter.
