Well, we started at 7:30 Friday morning with the new New Holland 9060.
I think I figured out how to put desciptions under the pictures maybe next time
There was a truck arriving at the pile every 5-7 minutes The fellow in the 4960 spent about 8 hours driving back and forth about 300 feet. We hauled about 2 miles from this field. Chopped off about 50 acres. Some places corn is 12 feet tall some places 3 feet tall with no ears Overall the corn has pretty good ears on about 10 ft. stalks. Rain came just as corn was making ears. Will probably be good quality but less volume than most years
Notice the smaller dia. cutting wheels on the chopper than the older model driver said its a JD head.
One of the trucks the chopper owner brought. He brought 3 plus the Mack and One other the farmer had hired..
The white truck has Ag type tires on the back and floaters on the front Also the box can be changed to a 4000 gallon manure tank. This guy hauls most of the manure from the farm.
Next picture is what the rear of 600 horses looks like when you follow it down thru the middle of the field to open up another section.
The last picture is a 4960 with duals and a 7000 pound weight on the back packing the silage, he drove back and forth about 300 feet for about 7 hours. and I think an 8700 with weight and Degelman blade spreading and pushing silage up the pile.
