The gov of our state put a great process into motion just in the last month. Some sort of tax break to jump start business.
To pay for it, he has some 'tax loopholes' closed from here on out.
Well, closing 'loopholes' means raising taxes. Sounds good to say closing loopholes, but.... So, how does this help create new jobs, or stimulate business? Give to one, take from another - no gain.
In my town just got a $100,000 grant to a couple that is renovating a delapodated old hotel. It will cost 1.2 million to do so, and be converted into 6-8 'art sudios' for painting and dancing. The gal has a plan for another $270,000 tax break coming to her pockets, and other 'ideas' to raise money - seems to all be tax money to her pockets.
How in blazes does this raise our ecconomy up? It takes over a million bucks from people, and gains us what? Art studios so people can dance? A fine persuit, but that is not creating wealth, that's not fruthering the ecconomy. I'm all for art & dance studios, but why over a million dollars out of my and your pocket for it? It's a drag backwards......
