We just talked to my Grand-Son in Afghanistan on Skype. My Grand Daughter is supposed to call later today. She is on duty right now. I remember being in Vietnam and not able to do anything other than mail letters. The whole extended family was over at my sister's house this year. So we all got to talk a little with him. HE did not say where he was but that they had just gotten back off of patrol duty. HE says they had a big Christmas meal.
HE also just told us he is getting promoted to Captain. Not bad for just being 28 years old. HE graduated from West Point and Airborne training.
The Grand-Daughter is not an officer she is a STAFF SERGEANT. ( In the Air Force she is considered a NCO) She always says she has to work for her living. LOL She did not want to go to college. She joined right after high school. She has been in now for nine years. She says she is going for her thirty.
Dave II I will ask her what base she is on. I have not been able to keep track of her as well as the grand-son. She moves around a lot more. She has a good bit of wonder lust in her. I think at last count she has been in over fifty countries. This is both service time and vacations. She want to travel to all of them she can.
