There was a show on CMT last night called Trick My What?. One of the Duke cousins went out and got somebodys everyday user Farmall 140 right out of the field in the guise of restoring it for him so it would be more dependable. They took that thing in,cut the front spindles and added 7 inches of height so now if he breaks a spindle,he's skrewd. Then to compensate, they took off the 24 inch rears and put 38s on it on custom wheels, and as far as I could tell, they didn't do anything to the transmission or rearend to compensate for the added speed of the bigger tires. The guy acted better about the whole fiasco than I would have. I'm afraid I'd have had a gun to their heads til they fixed it.
