I posted a message a about weeks ago about my IH 674 Diesel blowing oil out the vent tube. I changed the oil and filter yesterday (used rotella 15W40). Cranked easy as usual. Mowed some really heavy growth with the 6ft bushhog for less than an hour before the rain ran me in. Running in 3rd gear low range. Kept an eye on the vent tube, once up to operating temp there was a steady stream of oil drips blowing out. It blew out about 3 quarts in that short time. I have the early vent tube that is straight. From what I understand IH went to a tube with a up curve to avoid oil loss on hillsides. All this mowing was on pretty level ground. Don't know if changing the tube to the model with the up curve would help. A gallon of oil an hour is gonna break me. Other than running some more and keeping oil in it, don't know what else to try. Thanks
