I recently acquired an IH Utility 300 equipped with a bucket and backhoe. The hose leading from the resevoir tank to the hydraulic pump leaks badly and needs to be replaced, however the one installed appears to be grossly oversized and also appears to be a pressure hose. I assume that this hose should be a vacuum hose and since the fitting size at the pump inlet is 3/4 inch I believe a 3/4 inch hose would be adequate. Am I correct in these assumptions. Incidentally the outlet side of the pump has a 1/2 inch hose attached. Any help would be appreciated.
