Priming Hydraulic pump

Is there a way you can prime the live hydraulic pump on a 450 Ive had problems in the past getting the pump to pick up prime. also I got arebuilt pressure plate that has small adjustable buttons on the fingers that ride on the throw out bearing they are adjusted all the way in now should i leave them that way?
