I like the Service manual from Case/IH which is basicly a copy of the old IH Blue-Ribbon Service Manual. I used kerosene to clean the small parts on my engine. It isn't real aggressive, so it helps if things can soak a couple of days. I took the block to a machine shop to be baked out and cleaned. After it came back, I used a spray can solvent with a small nozzle to go through every oil passage to be double sure they were open.
