You found the tractor serial number, not the engine serial number. It should be on a small machined flat under number 1 spark plug. I believe you will find a number in the upper range. There were some big changes in there, primary ones that affect your rebuild parts selection is different size bearings (mains and rods larger on latter motors), a different head gasket (14 bolts late vs 9 bolts on early C-135's) and a new rear main seal and retainer (standard oil seal type vs the rope style on the older ones). AFAIK the sleeve and piston kits, pin bushings and valves stayed the same, but would have to check back on that? Hope that helps, Stan(VA).
