Provided the engine block has not been changed, the serial number stamped on it will be close to, if not the same as, the tractor's serial number. There are also dates on each major casting. They'll be encoded with the year as a letter, something like "Y 10 11", which would mean the 11th of October on some year. The letters have been mentioned here many times and I'm sure someone knows what letter equates to what year.
