My new milliohmmeter only has a 1 ohm resolution, so the resistance could be anywhere between 100 milliohms and 2 ohms. At those levels it makes a difference how hard you press on the connections. If your resistor is already broken, it wouldn't hurt to try and braze it. The braze alloy will have a lower resistance than the wire, so it shouldn't develop a hot spot or increase the resistance of the system. Biggest problem I've run into in restoring my '48C is corroded and rusty connections. They can add a lot of resistance in the circuit and really upset the intent of the original design. Good luck.
