Been there done that! First thing is to check your plugs. Make sure they are not too carboned up. Clean and regap. Might have to replace. Then check each plug wire. Check the cap. Check the points and the condenser. Then, check compression..... I have a feeling you probably need new plugs. Try the Champion D-19's or D-21's. Ellie would not start for almost a week. Thought for sure it was the head. Turns out after checking in ALL over about 3 or 4 times, the plugs just died... put in D-19's running like a champ! Hope this helps and it is just plugs. While you are at it, check/change oil and filter. Lube the tractor according to the owners manual (click link below), check you Hy-Tran level and your tranny fluid level and of course steering box and rear ends.
