Jamie, Take a voltmeter and hook the positive lead up to the stud coming out of the starter that has the cable on it, next hook the negative lead to a good clean spot on the frame or neg battery cable. While watching the meter, try to start it and see where the voltage goes to, if it drops below about ten volts I would replace my battery cables first. If that doesn't fix it or the voltage doesn't drop that much then I would pull the starter and get it looked at. This is all assuming you switched your tractor to negative ground and and the battery is good. Hope this helps, jstpa
