I bought a super M at an auction this weekend andthe grill was off the tractor, but it came with one. I went to put it on today and found that the grill is too short to fit over the radiator. Did the super M have a different grill, radiator, and hood than an M? I bought this as an M with a stuck engine, found out today that the engine wasn't stuck, it had problems with the bearing guide that wouldn't let the engine turn over. the serial # tag is missing and the tractor has disc brakes, the casting codes are late 1952 and a few with early 1953 (X and Y)so I figure it is a 1953 super M. Did the engine # match the tractor serial # like it does on my H? also I need to remove the front shaft to replace the throwout bearing and guide. What is the trick to remove this shaft without splitting the tractor? I have the flex coupling out and the shaft won't slide back far enough to clear the clutch plate.
