My 424 was sold several years ago, so this is from a hazy memory, but I recall there were two valves. One was a shut off valve that closed off the 3 point. When you closed it, the 3 point was locked in position and would not go up or down. (That is if you had a good system with no leaks in the cylinder, etc). I think there was another valve to open to send fluid to the remote. Also my 424 did not have PS, so it may have been different. That was a really good tractor and I would likely still have it if it had PS.
