I've also heard that the cam gears were beefed up on the Super M and up, haven't compared one myself. I think the danger comes from trying to generate high pressures on the hyd system. To minimize your risk, 1) be wide awake when operating the valve(s) and don't ever continue to hold the valve open after one extreem of stroke on the cylinder has been reached; 2)Better yet, set the pressure relief to a lower setting. Most aftermarket valves come with an adjustable pressure relief that is default to around 2500psi. You can hear your engine load up when it's pushing against it. Adjust it such that you can lift your maximum planned loads, but it doesn't try to choke the engine out when at a limit. Stan(VA).
