Gents! Afore I go unzipping the gear case, wonder if anybody has got a good guess as to the trouble. My old "H" has developed serious gear clash when applying the right brake pedal. When trying to diagnose the problem I attempted to start out in a forward motion in 5th gear and the engine began loading real hard and diffilculty moving. In other forward gears she moves OK, also in reverse. Never noticed any of the symptoms prior to an event that my son-in-law had attempted to pull out tree roots with it, which he was unable to do. I had warned him not to try use her as a bulldozier early on, but he ignored my advice. A grandson, who enjoys taking her for a spin, acted a little guilty when I asked him if he had tried upshifting while in motion. I've a problem convincing him to use nothing higher than 3rd, but he insists on hot-rodding. Does anybody consider either of the two incidents could possibly have bent a shifter or shaft resulting in gears grinding on right brake application. Any ideas on where to start looking? "TU"
