I have a carter carburetor on my 48 Super A. It was flodding out even without pulling on the choke. I pulled the carburetor apart and let it set in carburetor cleaner for a day and then put it back together. I bend the two float types down some so that it would not fill the bowl so full. I was just guessing on the setting. It runs now, but what is the proper float setting? I also tend to have a high speed miss that is intermittent that acts more like a gas problem than an electrical problem. I have clean the air filter and the filter in the carb. I have not cleaned the bowl on the tank, but it looks clean and it has new gas. I have not checked the timing. It runs good otherwise.
