Well, I never thought the day would come, but I am giving up on the nicest Farmall I ever laid my eyes on. I bought it on the net, all restored, including a professional engine rebuild. I couldn't wait to get it home, because I worked for a farmer who bought one new in the late 40's and he would never let me even sit on it. Oh well, I was making a buck a day, so what more could I expect. The seller never told me the clutch wasn't working right, so here I am with a beautiful looking tractor that I can't play with. I feel like a kid left sitting on the bench for the last football game of the season. I'm older than dirt, have high mileage, can't do squat, because of a back injury that keeps me on 8 perkies a day, so I sure can't fix it myself. I live in NY State, where most farmers have given up farming and I just can't find anyone to fix "big-red". The ol' farm scene ain't what it used to be! Today "big red" goes up for trade, or for-sale for $1000. less than I got in it, so someone with the strength and knowledge could get a great tractor. I'm not too pleased about this, because I've never given up on anything in my life. I just can't fix it, and I'll be hornswaggled if I just let that beautiful piece of machinery sit in the barn and take up space.
