It sounds like your transmission is over full of oil. It should only have about 5 quarts total in there. Take the fill plug out that is near the gear shift lever. If you see oil in there, it is too full. You should only see gears, etc and the oil level should be below them where you can't see it. The drain at the belt pulley is just for that chamber. It will not drain the transmission. The transmission drain should be on the right hand side, bottom rear of the transmission case. That is just in front of the bottom of PTO case assembly which is below the belt pulley. There is a level plug on the left hand side, front of the transmission. On the Super A, it is behind the brake rod on that side and you have to take the pin out of the rod clevis to get to it. Oil should only be up to that level hole. I'm not sure of the brake rod arrangement on the AV. It may be different than the Super A, but I think it would be the same.
