Curious Numbers

I have the following codes on cast items on my 1944 (FAA-107576)Farmall A. 6342-DH.........Engine 8846-DA.........Tranny 6716-DB.........Head 6502-DA.........Belt Pulley 8778-DA.........Timing Cover 8638-DB.........Clutch Bell 6530-DD.........Front End What is the purpose behind these numbers ? Are they part numbers ? Can one tell by the numbers if a tractor is all original, or if it was rebuilt using a couple different tractor parts from different years ? Just Curious, if anyone knows.
