1066 IH - manual clutch, 8 speed, no t/a. Made a loud "pop" the first time it happened and started to growl. I had it under a heavy load in reverse. Now it just seems to slip out gently. When this happens, I have to pull (or sometimes push) the shift lever to get back into reverse. I took the top of the range transmission and the spring on the tension arms was missing. I replaced the spring and put it all back together, but it did not fix my problem. My shifter works better, but it still will not stay in reverse. I would appreciate any help or advice on this subject. Thanks, Mitch Sisson - Bellefontaine, MS
